Libary Book Haul!

Hello there!

This is going to be a fun and simple post. I had a few holds at the Libary and I picked them up a few days ago so I will share with you what those books are.

      1. Reflection: A Twisted Tale by Elizabeth Lim

This is the fourth book in the Twisted Tales series that follows the story of Mulan. In this story, Mulan has to travel to the underworld to save Shang after he gets injured. Oh, and Mulan is still undercover as Ping!

I love reading these twisted tales books and I can’t wait to get to this one.

This is the second book in the Wires and Nerve series ( maybe a duology). I loved the first Volume so I just had to get the second.

    3. Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi

I wasn’t planning on reading this book anytime soon but then I found out that this is the BookCon Book Club book of the month so I decided to see if it was available at my library. It was so I was like sure let’s give this a try. I do not know much about this book but this book has been getting a lot of good reviews and I decided to jump on the bandwagon… is that how you say that?

Well, anyway I am super excited to get to this book.

That is it all the books I picked up from the Libary. Let me know in the comments if you have read any of these books and what you thought of them, no spoilers of course.

February and March Summary

Hello there!

In today’s post, I will be telling you guys the books that I read in February and March. Let’s just get into it, hope you enjoy.

1)  Forest of a Thousand Lanterns by Julie C. Dao

This is an East-Asian reimagining of the Evil Queen story from Snow White.  I thought this was such an originally retelling and I am so excited for the second book called Kingdom of the Blazing Pheniox. I don’t know how I feel about the cover change though.

2) A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle

I wanted to read this book because I am a big Disney fan so I had to watch the movie. I had never read the book as a child so I decided to read it before watching the movie. I have to say that I went in with high expectations for the book and it did not match my expectations. If you want to know more you can check out my review.

3) Wires and Nerve Vol. 1 by Marissa Meyer

This book follows Iko from The Lunar Chronicles which is one of my favorite book series. I loved this graphic novel it was so much fun jumping into this world again.

4) Surprise Me by Sophie Kinsella

This is the story about a married couple who have been told that they will live very long lives learning this they freak out so they decided to do surprises for each other to keep the marriage interesting, but it doesn’t go according to plan.  I will save that I did not like this book as much as other Sophie Kinsella books. Kinsella is my favorite author and this book missed the mark with me.

Review: Surprise Me

That’s it all the books I started and finished February and March. Let me know what you guys read. Also, let me know if you have read any of the books mentioned in this post.

Book Monologue #8: Wires and Nerve by Marissa Meyer

Hello there!

About a week ago I read Volume 1 of Wires and Nerve by Marissa Meyer.  I had a few feelings about the book so I thought I should make a blog post about it. This review will have spoilers on both The Lunar Chronicles and Wires and Nerve. That said if you haven’t read either come back and read this post once you do. Now on to the review!

I will start off by saying that I had so much fun being with these characters again. The Lunar Chronicles is one of my favorite book series so being able to read this and see where these characters have been since the events of Winter as well as before the events of Stars AboveContinue reading “Book Monologue #8: Wires and Nerve by Marissa Meyer”
