I have finished my first book of 2018 and that book is Renegades by Marissa Meyer. If you do not know Meyer is the author of the New York Times bestselling series The Lunar Chronicles as well as the standalone novel Heartless. In both The Lunar Chronicles and Heartless these were retellings, Renegades is Meyer’s first book that is her own story. If you want to know more about what Renegades is about and my thoughts on it keep on reading. This review is spoiler free so proceed without worry.
In the city of Gatlot, they have superheroes named the Renegades and villains named the Anarchists. Years before the start of this novel the Anarchists were the ones ruling the city, that is until prodigy vigilantes started fighting crime and took down the Anarchists. Now the Renegades are the ones ruling and keeping order in the city. This story follows Nova an Anarchists that is on a mission for vengeance because the Renegades let her down many years ago. When things start to look like things may be going her way she meets Adrian a Renegade boy and that is when things start to get complicated. Continue reading “Review: Renegades by Marissa Meyer”
I have finally finished reading One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake! That took me over a month to read and I am not sure why because I really enjoyed it. One Dark Throne is the sequel to Three Dark Crowns, so there will be spoilers on Three Dark Crowns in case you haven’t read it yet. I have a review on Three Dark Crowns if you want a spoiler-free review of the first book.
One Dark Throne starts a little bit after where we left off in Three Dark Crowns. After the crazy events that went down in Three Dark Crowns we get to see how the three Queens react to those events. Katharine somehow made it out alive out of the Breccia Domain and is more determined than ever to win the crown. Arsinoe has learned that she is not a Naturalist but a poisoner, so she needs to figure out how to take advantage of this secret. Mirabella has to try to keep the people around her from getting hurt. I am finally doing my review of Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake! I finished reading TDC right before BookTube-A-Thon stated so over two weeks ago. So here it finally is, hope you enjoy.
“Three dark queens are born in a glen, sweet little triplets will never be friends. Three dark sisters all fair to be seen, two to devour and one to be Queen.”
Three Dark Crowns is about triplet sisters that all have an equal right to the throne. The only thing is that to find out who will be queen once they turn sixteen they have to fight to the death until only one queen is standing. Also, each triplet has a certain power: Katharine is a poisoner, Arsinoe is a naturalist, and Mirabella is an elemental.
Finally! I have finished reading Hunted by Meagan Spooner. I started this book around mid-February. I can not believe that it took me so long to read this book, it took me over a month. This post is going to be my spoiler free review of Hunted. I got an ARC at New York Comic Con 2016. That said this review will be based on the ARC. I do not know what changes were made for the finished copy. Hunted is out now so you can pick up a finished copy today. Hope you enjoy! Continue reading “Review: Hunted by Meagan Spooner”
This post is going to be on my thoughts on Heartless by Marissa Meyer. I had been looking forward to this book ever since I finished Winter by Meyer which I read January 2016. I absolutely fell in love with the Lunar Chronicles so I was looking forward to finally reading Heartless. Heartless is Meyer’s first book outside of the Lunar Chronicles world as well as her first stand-alone book. What this book is about is the story of a girl named Catherine who we all know today as the Queen of Hearts. All Catherine wanted to do was open a bakery with her best friend but that is not what the world had planned for her. Continue reading “Review : Heartless by Marissa Meyer”
I bring to you my review on Amy Tintera’s Ruined. I first found out about this book when I watched Epic Reads Explains Ruined video. After I watched this video I knew I had to get this book ASAP because it sounded so good. Some time after I watched another Epic Reads video where Margot was talking about Ruined and said that it was amazing. This added Continue reading “Review: Ruined by Amy Tintera”
Today’s post is going to be my review on Soundless by Richelle Mead. Soundless is about a girl named Fei who lives in a village that is on top of a mountain. In Fei’s village, the people mine for medals and send them to the township that is at the base of the mountain. The way that they send the medals down the mountain is by zip line because many years before the path to go down the mountain was blocked off with rocks caused by an avalanche. Oh, and that is not even half of their problems, everyone in the village are deaf so they communicate by sign language but now people are starting to lose their sight which is a huge problem. Not only that, the township is sending them less food because they are not minding as much as they had. One day in the middle of the night Fei regains her hearing and that is when the story truly begins. Continue reading “Review: Soundless by Richelle Mead”

I precent to you something that has been long a waited (at least for me) a book review! This will be spoiler free so do not fear and read on. This review is on Everything, Everything by: Nicola Yoon which is her debut book. Okay, I want to say this first because I do not want this to happen to anyone. So when I got the book I was admiring how beautiful it was, then I noticed that there is one random black page. I thought “I wonder what is on this page?”, my theory was that, that page marked a point where extras will begin like a Q and A or something like that. I went on to look at the page and boy was I wrong! This page had three words on it and as soon as I read it I wished that I could take it back. Talk about being spoiled! Yes I spoiled myself I thought so thats how its gonna end. While reading the book I kept thinking I know how its gonna end, but I was wrong it did go a different direction. Long story short don’t read that black page you will not be happy with yourself. Now on to the actual review.

Audrey has gone through a traumatic experience that has left her in a very fragile state. Audrey has social anxiety and to cope with this she stays at home and wears dark glasses because she can’t deal with eye contact. Finding Audrey is about her struggles on how to get better as well as her family and how they are coping with things as well.
When I first picked up this book (thank you to Carleny for letting me borrow it), I did not know what to expect. As soon as the first few pages of meeting Audrey I felt connected to her. The way that she explained her social anxiety I could relate to and I couldn’t wait to see what her journey would be like.
