So, last year when Pretty Little Liars ended I did a blog post about what I loved about the show and saying goodbye. I thought that since Once Upon a Time ended this past Friday I should do the same with Once Upon a Time.
I remember when I first heard about the show. I was at the movie theater about to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2. They played the tailor for Once Upon a Time before the movie previews. I love Disney and fairy tales so when I watched the trailer I knew that I had to watch the show when I premiered on October 23, 2011. Once I watched the premiere I knew that this show will be something I will absolutely love. Continue reading “And They Lived Happily Ever After : Goodbye to Once Upon a Time”
This post is going to be on my thoughts of As Old as Time: A Twisted Tale by Liz Braswell. The A Twisted Tale series takes the Disney movies that we love and adds a twist to it to make it different. In this book it Liz Braswell retells the story of Beauty and the Beast and asks the question ” What if Belle’s mother cursed the Beast?”. I have been wanting to read this book ever since it came out in 2016! Finally, I got my hands on a copy and I will tell you what I thought about this new tale as old as time.
I will start off by saying that Beauty and the Beast (1991) is my favorite movie. Not my favorite Disney movie, not my favorite animated film but my favorite movie period. I have read a few Beauty and the Beast retellings and I have not found one that I have absolutely loved. I think I have such high standards that I haven’t found a Beauty and the Beast retelling that just blew me away. That being said As Old as time came pretty close to it but it ended up not being what I hoped it would be. Continue reading “Oh My Fairytales: As Old as Time by Liz Braswell”
In this post, I am just going to let you guys know a bit of the struggle I have been having with my reading lately. I hope you enjoy.
I will start off by saying that I am currently in the middle of reading three books. Yes, three books. These books are As Old as Time by Liz Braswell, Zenith by Sasha Alsberg and Lindsay Cummings, and lastly What the Valley Knows by Heather Christie. Now the struggle is different with each book. For What the Valley Knows it is taking me a while to Continue reading “The Struggle of being a reader”
In today’s post, I will be sharing with you guys what I am planning on reading the next three months. Hope you enjoy.
1. What the Valley Knows by Heather Christie
- I received an ebook from Black Rose Writing for review. I am so excited to get to this book, it is a young adult contemporary about a girl who moves to a new town and gets involved with the popular football player. One night she and her boyfriend get into a car accident and she ends up forgetting something important. I do not know much about it but it has great reviews so I am looking forward to reading it.

In today’s post, I will be telling you guys the books that I read in February and March. Let’s just get into it, hope you enjoy.
1) Forest of a Thousand Lanterns by Julie C. Dao
This is an East-Asian reimagining of the Evil Queen story from Snow White. I thought this was such an originally retelling and I am so excited for the second book called Kingdom of the Blazing Pheniox. I don’t know how I feel about the cover change though.
Review: Forest of a Thousand Lanterns Continue reading “February and March Summary”
This is going to be an update on what I have read…or haven’t read this February. I will let you know that this was not a good reading month for me. I was able to finish reading Forest of a Thousand Lanterns by Julie C. Dao which was a really good book, I have a spoiler-free review if you want to read all the thoughts I had on that book. After I finished Forest of a Thousand Lanterns I statted reading Surprise Me by Sophie Kinsella. Let me tell you guys, I usually fly reading anything by Sophie Kinsella and I stated Surprise Me on the 14th and as I am typing this on the 28th I am still on chapter 3. In today’s post I will be telling you what I have planned to read in February and March. I have decided to start doing my TBR’s every three months instead of monthly. That way it allows me to have a longer amount of time to read the books that I set out to read. Since I thought about this after I had already done my January TBR this month it will just be February and March. My next TBR will be in April for April, May and June. The next July for July, August and September. Lastly, October for October, November and December. I really hope that this schedule works out better. Now on to the books.
1. Forest of a Thousand Lanterns by Julie C. Dao
- I started this book the end of January so I will continue on into February.
