I am so excited to get to this book, it is a young adult contemporary about a girl who moves to a new town and gets involved with the popular football player. One night she and her boyfriend get into a car accident and she ends up forgetting something important. I do not know much about it but it has great reviews so I am looking forward to reading it.

1) Forest of a Thousand Lanterns by Julie C. Dao

This is going to be an update on what I have read…or haven’t read this February. I will let you know that this was not a good reading month for me. I was able to finish reading Forest of a Thousand Lanterns by Julie C. Dao which was a really good book, I have a spoiler-free review if you want to read all the thoughts I had on that book. After I finished Forest of a Thousand Lanterns I statted reading Surprise Me by Sophie Kinsella. In this post, I will be reviewing Forest of a Thousand Lanterns by Julie C. Dao. This is a spoiler free review so you can continue reading with no fear. Forest of a Thousand Lanterns is the debut novel for Dao published by Philomel Books an imprint of Penguin Random House. This book was released on October 10th 2017. The second book Kingdom of the Blazing Phoenix is set to release on October 23rd, 2018. I believe this is a duology.
This is an Evil Queen from Snow White reimagining set in East Asian-inspired fantasy world. It has been destined that Xifeng (SHE-fung) will become Empress of Feng Lu and Xifeng really wants this to come true but that future comes at a high price. She has to reject the young man that is in love with her and she has to embrace the dark magic in her. The way that Xifeng can fuel her magic is by eating the hearts of the recently killed. The God that has put her on this journey will not be happy until his power is complete. Continue reading “Review: Forest of a Thousand Lanterns by Julie C. Dao”
In today’s post I will be telling you what I have planned to read in February and March. I have decided to start doing my TBR’s every three months instead of monthly. That way it allows me to have a longer amount of time to read the books that I set out to read. Since I thought about this after I had already done my January TBR this month it will just be February and March. My next TBR will be in April for April, May and June. The next July for July, August and September. Lastly, October for October, November and December. I really hope that this schedule works out better. Now on to the books.
