Read-A-Thon by Zoe

Hello there!

Yesterday, December 9th 2017 I participated in the 24 hour readathon hosted by ReadbyZoe on YouTube. This post I will let you guys know how it went. Now let’s get into it.

I stated the readathon at 1:30 AM by reading One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake. I started ODT in November and I was halfway into the book. The goal was to get a good a good amount of it read because I have been reading ODT for far too long. So I read from 1:30 Am until 5 Am. I ended up reading about 70ish pages which was a really good dent.  At 5 AM I decided to go to sleep because I was really tired. Continue reading “Read-A-Thon by Zoe”

Review: Rise of the Isle of the Lost by Melissa de la Cruz

Hello there!

Finally, the last review of the The Isle of the Lost books. I know this is really late but better late than never right? Well, I say we just get into this review. This will be spoiler free so do not fear and read on.

I am going to start off by talking about what I liked about the book. One of the things that I liked is the fact that things are explained. I liked that they explained where Harry Hook and Gil came from. In the first two books we know that Captain Hook has a daughter named Harriet and Gaston has twin sons named Gaston and Gaston. So when I heard about Harry son of Captain Hook and Gil son of Gaston I thought they were just going to pretend that Harriet and the Gaston twins were never a thing. But it is explained that  Harriet and Harry are siblings and the Gaston twins and Gil are brothers as well. You may say well duh obviously they are siblings. But Harry and Gil are not mentioned in the first two books they just pop up in the third book. That is what made me think that they were going to pretend that Harriet and the Gaston twins weren’t a thing. Make sense? I hope it does. The other place is the Isle of the Lost where you guessed it, all the Disney villains live. On the Isle of the Lost, all the villains and their children live under a dome that keeps them trapped on the Isle. With this dome, it keeps the villains in so they are unable to harm the heroes. This story is about Mal daughter of Maleficent, Evie daughter of the Evil Queen, Jay the son of Jafar, and Carlos the son of Curella De Vil. Review: Avenged by Amy Tintera

Hello there!

I’ll let you guys know from now that the second book did not disappoint, this was a great continuation. First things first if you have not read either books stop right there and check out my spoiler-free review of Ruined. This review will have some spoilers of Ruined since this is a sequel. Now let’s get into the actual review!

Guys! I absolutely loved this second book, Avenged. I thought it was a great continuation and I loved seeing all the characters development. In Ruined Emelina’s main goal is to save her sister Olivia from the Lera kingdom who kidnapped her. By the end of book one Em accomplishes her goal and saves her sister. Em’s plan had worked exactly how she planned it, except for one thing. Em never planned on developing feelings for the Lera Prince, Casimir. Continue reading “Review: Avenged by Amy Tintera”

BookCon Day 2: Experience and Haul

Hello there,

One week later and I am finally posting the second part to my BookCon post. This will be all about day two let’s just get into it.

Sunday june 4th    After the first day, Carleny and I realized that if we wanted to get the One Dark Throne Arc we had to get to the Javits Center earlier than we did on day one. So we agreed to meet up on Sunday at 7 am. This meant that we had to wake up at 5 am and leave by 6 am. Carleny had to leave her house around 5:45 am because she lives feather from Manhattan than I do. Early that morning I get a text from Carleny that says “I’m up, don’t make me call you!” and I responded with “I’m up!”. After such a long day on Saturday and then having to be up at 5 Am we were not in the most chipper mood to be up that early. I was on the train by a little after 6 am and I was shocked at a number of people on the train that early on a Sunday ha ha. I met up with Carleny and we were on the line at about 7:05 Am. Since we got to the Javits Center earlier on Sunday we had to line up outside since the queue hall didn’t open until 8 Am. Continue reading “BookCon Day 2: Experience and Haul”
