Here is my wrap-up for the last three months. I have been grouping my Wrap-Ups and TBRs into three-month chunks this year. Well, this is going to be the last time because starting in July I will go back to posting these monthly! YAY! Now that, that is said let’s talk about books.
1. As Old as Time by Liz Braswell
This is the third book in the A Twisted Tale series and this focuses on Beauty and the Beast where the twist is “What if Belle’s mother cursed the Beast?”. I was so excited to read this book because BATB (1991) is my favorite movie and I was curious to see how I would like this retelling. I did enjoy myself reading myself but I did not love it as much as I thought I would. If you want to read more about my thoughts check out my review! Continue reading “April,May, June Summary”
This post is going to be on my thoughts of As Old as Time: A Twisted Tale by Liz Braswell. The A Twisted Tale series takes the Disney movies that we love and adds a twist to it to make it different. In this book it Liz Braswell retells the story of Beauty and the Beast and asks the question ” What if Belle’s mother cursed the Beast?”. I have been wanting to read this book ever since it came out in 2016! Finally, I got my hands on a copy and I will tell you what I thought about this new tale as old as time.
I will start off by saying that Beauty and the Beast (1991) is my favorite movie. Not my favorite Disney movie, not my favorite animated film but my favorite movie period. I have read a few Beauty and the Beast retellings and I have not found one that I have absolutely loved. I think I have such high standards that I haven’t found a Beauty and the Beast retelling that just blew me away. That being said As Old as time came pretty close to it but it ended up not being what I hoped it would be. Continue reading “Oh My Fairytales: As Old as Time by Liz Braswell”
In this post, I am just going to let you guys know a bit of the struggle I have been having with my reading lately. I hope you enjoy.
I will start off by saying that I am currently in the middle of reading three books. Yes, three books. These books are As Old as Time by Liz Braswell, Zenith by Sasha Alsberg and Lindsay Cummings, and lastly What the Valley Knows by Heather Christie. Now the struggle is different with each book. For What the Valley Knows it is taking me a while to Continue reading “The Struggle of being a reader”
This post is the mid-year book freak out tag! I am not sure who created the tag so if you know let me know in the comments so I can give them credit. Now let’s get into these questions.

Finally! I have finished reading Hunted by Meagan Spooner. I started this book around mid-February. I can not believe that it took me so long to read this book, it took me over a month. This post is going to be my spoiler free review of Hunted. I got an ARC at New York Comic Con 2016. That said this review will be based on the ARC. I do not know what changes were made for the finished copy. Hunted is out now so you can pick up a finished copy today. Hope you enjoy! Continue reading “Review: Hunted by Meagan Spooner”
First off, I know this review is super late. This should have been posted the end of January but stuff happened and today is the day that I was finally able to get this up. Today’s post is on my thoughts on Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge. Let me start off by saying that I was really excited to read this book and I had been wanting to read this for a year or two. I am so glad that I was finally able to give Cruel Beauty a read.
Cruel Beauty is a Beauty and the Beast retelling, that is the main reason I wanted to read this book. Nyx our main character has been betrothed to the evil ruler of her kingdom since birth. This is all due to the fact that her father struck a deal with the Gentle Lord. The price of that deal was one of his daughters. This story is about Nyx and what happens when she comes face to face with the husband she is supposed to kill. Continue reading “Review: Cruel Beauty by: Rosamund Hodge”
On January 30th, 2017 the latest trailer for the Beaty and the Beast live-action movie dropped. Wow, this newest trailer has gotten me even more excited for the movie to be released on March 17th. I talk in detail about the trailer so if you want to watch it first then come back and read the review here is the link –> BATB Trailer
I really like how just from the trailer you can see that they are keeping a lot of the scenes that are in the animated film. For example: when Belle is fighting the wolfs with the stick, when Chip blows bubbles in the tea, and when Beast and Belle sip from the bowls. As well as keeping a lot of the scenes from the animated film they have added a lot of new as well. I really liked how they explain to Belle about the curse. In the animated film all she knows is that the castle is enchanted, Belle does not know all the details about the curse. They also explain how Belle got the Continue reading “Beauty and the Beast Trailer Review”
As part of my countdown to Beauty and the Beast movie, I am going to discuss the words I learned from the 1991 movie Beauty and the Beast. What I mean by this is English words that as a child I most diffidently did not know what they meant. Now on to the words! ( After adding all the pictures in I realized that a lot of the words revolve around Gaston. Interesting.)
1) Primeval: adj: of or relating to the first age or ages, especially of the world.
Line: Belle: Gaston you are positively primeval.
Gaston: Why thank you, Belle.
-Um Gaston that is not a compliment lol Continue reading “Words I Learned from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast”
