Now on to the review!
Like I said in my spoiler-free review I felt that the first 200 pages were dragging and I was just there waiting for the action to start. I like fast-paced books so it just took so much for me to get through this book. Once the story started to pick up I did really enjoy this conclusion novel. It went places that I didn’t expect it to which is good because it makes it unpredictable. Continue reading “Book Monologue #9: War Storm by Victoria Aveyard”
About a week ago I read Volume 1 of Wires and Nerve by Marissa Meyer. I had a few feelings about the book so I thought I should make a blog post about it. This review will have spoilers on both The Lunar Chronicles and Wires and Nerve. That said if you haven’t read either come back and read this post once you do. Now on to the review!
I will start off by saying that I had so much fun being with these characters again. The Lunar Chronicles is one of my favorite book series so being able to read this and see where these characters have been since the events of Winter as well as before the events of Stars Above. Hello, my evil friends,
Here it finally is my review for the first book in the Descendants series The Isle of the Lost by Melissa De La Cruz. The first part of this review is going to be spoiler free then I will go into spoilers. Do not worry I will let you know when that is about to happen. Now on to the review.
Some of you might be asking what is The Isle of the Lost about. Well, In this world there are two places one is Auradon where all the heroes of all the Disney movies live. The other place is the Isle of the Lost where you guessed it, all the Disney villains live. On the Isle of the Lost, all the villains and their children live under a dome that keeps them trapped on the Isle. With this dome, it keeps the villains in so they are unable to harm the heroes. This story is about Mal daughter of Maleficent, Evie daughter of the Evil Queen, Jay the son of Jafar, and Carlos the son of Curella De Vil. These four villain kids set off on a mission to retrieve Maleficent’s Dragan’s eye. They all have their own reasons for taking on this mission but will they be able to accomplish their goals? In this post, I will be spilling all my thoughts on Avenged by Amy Tintera the second book in the Ruined series. If you have not read Avenged and would like to read a spoiler-free review you can check mine out! Also if you have not read Ruined I have a review for that as well one is spoiler free and the other has spoilers. Now let’s get into this review.
Like I said in my spoiler free review of Ruined I loved this sequel. I thought this was a great continuation of the first book and a great set up for the third and last book. I will now go character by character and discuss my thoughts about them. Continue reading “Book Monologue # 7: Avenged by Amy Tintera”
On this post, I will be going into detail on my thoughts of King’s Cage by Victoria Aveyard. This review will have spoilers so if you are looking for a spoiler-free review you can check mine out! (KC Review Spoiler Free). Now let’s get into this review.
Okay, let me start off by saying that I enjoyed the pacing for most of the book. Since Mare was taken by Maven as a prisoner I thought that her escape/ rescue was going to happen too quick. I thought that it might have been a chapter or two of Mare being held prisoner by Maven but it actually took a good portion of the book. Which I felt made it feel more realistic, also it took several tries for Mare to get away. I feel that sometimes in books or movies the rescue or escape happens the first try. So I really liked that, that wasn’t rushed. Continue reading “Book Monologue 6 : King’s Cage by Victoria Aveyard”
First off, I know this review is super late. This should have been posted the end of January but stuff happened and today is the day that I was finally able to get this up. Today’s post is on my thoughts on Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge. Let me start off by saying that I was really excited to read this book and I had been wanting to read this for a year or two. I am so glad that I was finally able to give Cruel Beauty a read.
Cruel Beauty is a Beauty and the Beast retelling, that is the main reason I wanted to read this book. Nyx our main character has been betrothed to the evil ruler of her kingdom since birth. This is all due to the fact that her father struck a deal with the Gentle Lord. The price of that deal was one of his daughters. This story is about Nyx and what happens when she comes face to face with the husband she is supposed to kill. Continue reading “Review: Cruel Beauty by: Rosamund Hodge”
This post is on my thoughts on The Sun is Also A Star by: Nicola Yoon. This post will also be different from my other reviews. The first part of this post will be spoiler free then I will go into some of my spoiler thoughts. Do not worry I will let you know when that happens so that you are not spoiled if you have not read The Sun is Also a Star yet. Now on to the review.
The Sun is Also a Star is about a girl named Natasha who thinks about everything in a very scientific way also Natasha and her family are being deported back to Jamaica that night. Then there is Daniel who is a dreamer that is trying to please his family, these two could not be any more different. These differences are the very thing that draws them together. Set in twelve hours Natasha and Daniel meet and Daniel is trying to make Natasha fall in love with him. This may be the main plot of this story but there is so much more to it. This book is told from multiple points of view, but it is done in a way that it is not confusing or annoying. Each perspective adds to the story in just the right way.
