A few weeks ago Zoe from ReadbyZoe announced that she will be hosting another 24 hour readathon on March 30th and of course I will be participating. This time around Zoe is going to be focusing on books that she is thankful for. I will link the video so you can get more information on the readathon. That being said I will now share with you what books I plan on reading during the readathon.
Since this readathon is all about gratitude all the books will be re-reads.
I am finally doing a new book review! It has been almost two months since my last one. In fact I haven’t posted anything since my last review in January but I am hoping to post more starting right now. In this post I will be reviewing I Owe You One by Sophie Kinsella. Kinsella is my favorite author so anytime she comes out with a new book I have to buy it and read it right away. That being said let’s get into this review.
I am finally posting my review of Two Dark Reigns by Kendare Blake the third book in the Three Dark Crowns series. Since this is the third book of a series there will be spoilers on the first two books Three Dark Crownsand One Dark Throne. I have reviews for both those books so check those out if want to know my thoughts on those.
Two Dark Reigns picks up a little after the events of One Dark Throne. Arsinoe, Mirabella, and Billy made it to the mainland but now Arsinoe keeps having dreams of the Blue Queen who seems to want her and Mirabella to go back home. Katharine is Queen and dealing with the repercussions of the King Consort’s untimely death as well as with the out of control fog that keeps bringing bodies to shore. Jules is trying to find her way after returning to the Island leaving Arsinoe and the others on the mainland and dealing with Joseph’s death. Jules meets a war-gifted girl who is gathering an army to take down the throne.
After reading the two short stories The Young Queens and The Oracle Queen I was so excited to pick up Two Dark Reigns and find out more about Fennbirn’s past. Boy, did Kendare Blake deliver! Nothing new is learned of the last Oracle Queen but we got so much information on the Blue Queen. As well as some details on the Island of Fennbirn itself. I was flipping the pages so excited to keep leaning secrets of Fennbirn Island.
Just from the information that is revealed about the past made this my favorite book so far in the series. I am so excited to see what happens in the next book because I need more answers and want more secrets to be revealed.
I will say that my least favorite parts were when we were catching up with Jules, just because I wanted to get back to the three Queens. Their storyline was more interesting to me.
Let’s talk about that ending really quick. In true Kendare Blake fashion, she wrote such a strong ending that just left me wanting more. These books always have the craziest cliffhangers that leave me with my jaw on the floor. At the end of this book, I literally said “What just happened?” because I was just so shocked.
I gave Two Dark Reigns five stars out of Five. Like I already said this is by far my favorite in the series so far. I was able to read this quicker than the first two because I was so invested to find out what happened next. I honestly can’t wait to read the last book and find out how this story ends.
Here is what I ended up reading for my 24 Hour Read-A-Thon last Saturday.
1. A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
This was the first book I read in the 24 hours and I was so excited to read this since I have watched a lot of movie versions of this story. I would have to say that most movies are fairly accurate compared to the book. Of course they are not the same but from the ones I have seen they have get most of the plot the same.
In the hopes of getting as much reading done by the end of the year ( which is a little over a week away), I have decided to do a 24-hour read-a-thon on Saturday the 22nd. In the past 24 hr read-a-thons starting at midnight doesn’t always work out so well, so I will start reading at noon est and read until 11:59 am the next day. I will also defiantly get some sleep in.
What I Plan on Reading
1- Always and Forever Lara Jean by Jenny Han
The last book in the To all the Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy. I loved the first two books so I am excited to see how this story ends.
Here is a new review for you guys. This review is on the book Rule by Ellen Goodlett. Want to know more about it? Well, keep on reading.
“The king is dying, his heir has just been murdered, and rebellion brews in the east. But the kingdom of Kolonya and the outer Reaches has one last option before it descends into leaderless chaos.
Or rather, three unexpected options.
Zofi has spent her entire life trekking through the outer Reaches with her band of Travelers. She would do anything to protect the band, her family. But no one can ever find out how far she’s already gone.
Akeylah was raised in the Eastern Reach, surrounded by whispers of rebellion and abused by her father. Desperate to escape, she makes a decision that threatens the whole kingdom.
Ren grew up in Kolonya, serving as a lady’s maid and scheming her way out of the servants’ chambers. But one such plot could get her hung for treason if anyone ever discovers what she’s done.
When the king summons the girls, they arrive expecting arrest or even execution. Instead, they learn the truth: they are his illegitimate daughters, and one must become his new heir. But someone in Kolonya knows their secrets, and that someone will stop at nothing to keep the sisters from their destiny… to rule.
Magic, mystery, and blackmail abound in this sensational and striking fantasy debut.”
Long time no book review. I am so happy to be writing a new book review and this one will be on Furyborn by Claire Legrand. Furyborn the first book in the Empirium trilogy was released on May 22nd, 2018 by Sourcebooks Fire. It is the story of two powerful women and their story takes place one thousand years apart.

To prove she is the Sun Queen, Rielle must endure seven elemental magic trials. If she fails, she will be executed…unless the trials kill her first.Continue reading “Review: Furyborn by Claire Legrand”→
