Review: One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake

Hello there!

I have finally finished reading One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake! That took me over a month to read and I am not sure why because I really enjoyed it. One Dark Throne is the sequel to Three Dark Crowns, so there will be spoilers on Three Dark Crowns in case you haven’t read it yet. I have a review on Three Dark Crowns if you want a spoiler-free review of the first book.

About:

One Dark Throne starts a little bit after where we left off in Three Dark Crowns. After the crazy events that went down in Three Dark Crowns we get to see how the three Queens react to those events. Katharine somehow made it out alive out of the Breccia Domain and is more determined than ever to win the crown. Arsinoe has learned that she is not a Naturalist but a poisoner, so she needs to figure out how to take advantage of this secret. Mirabella has to try to keep the people around her from getting hurt. Review: Twelve Days of Christmas by Debbie Macomber

Hello there!

So December 2016 I picked up Twelve Days of Christmas by Debbie Macomber. I was so excited to read a Christmas book. I got to page ten and gave up on the book because the main character annoyed me. Now December 2017 Zoe from readbyzoe hosts a 24 hour Holiday readathon and I took this opportunity to give Twelve Days of Christmas a second chance. Now, you may be asking yourself what is Twelve Days of Christmas is about. Keep on reading an I will fill you in.

About:

This is the story of Julia a bubbly personality and her neighbor Cain who is the complete opposite of Julia. Cain is not talkative and a bit rude to Julia. One day Julia catches Cain stealing her newspaper this is the last straw for her. Determined to break Cain’s not friendly exterior she decides to kill cain with kindness. As well as that she decides to blog about her Kill them with Kindness project for the twelve days leading up to Christmas.  Continue reading “Review: Twelve Days of Christmas by Debbie Macomber”

Read-A-Thon by Zoe

Hello there!

Yesterday, December 9th 2017 I participated in the 24 hour readathon hosted by ReadbyZoe on YouTube. This post I will let you guys know how it went. Now let’s get into it.

I stated the readathon at 1:30 AM by reading One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake. I started ODT in November and I was halfway into the book. The goal was to get a good a good amount of it read because I have been reading ODT for far too long. So I read from 1:30 Am until 5 Am. I ended up reading about 70ish pages which was a really good dent.  At 5 AM I decided to go to sleep because I was really tired. Continue reading “Read-A-Thon by Zoe”

Writing Update #3: Naming Characters and Occupation

Hello there!

Today’s post is an update on the book I have been working on. I am going to be covering naming my characters as well as figuring out what their occupation will be. That being said let’s just get right into it.

One thing that has taken me so long to do is name these characters. I have had their first names for a few weeks now but in the last few days, I have had to figure out their last names. Oh, boy was that a process! For my characters I wanted their first and last names to flow well together. Also, I wanted them not to have names that are used a lot, I wanted them to be at least a tiny bit original. Now, did I accomplish that goal? I have no idea but I am happy with the names that they ended up with…well at least for now. I have no clue if they will end up changing once I get to the actual writing of this book and truly discover who these characters are. Honestly, I am okay with that as long as I feel that by the end that I have found the best name for them I will be happy. I am so excited to actually get started on the book and see where these characters take me. Continue reading “Writing Update #3: Naming Characters and Occupation”
