Review: Famous In Love by Rebecca Serle

Hello there!

Today’s post is on my thoughts of Famous In Love by Rebecca Serle. I read this during BookTube-A-Thon as my “read a book with a person on the cover.” I will say this from now, this wasn’t the best read I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would. And I will tell you what I liked and what I just didn’t work for me.

Famous In Love is about Paige Townsen she loves acting and that is her life goal. So when auditions are being held in her town for the book to movie adaptation of the hottest book series Locked she decides to audition. This is the story of a new actress learning about the  Hollywood life and Hollywood romance.

What I liked about Famous In Love is that it was fast read it was really easy to get through it. It was also interesting to pick out the differences from the TV show. Honestly, those were the only things that I liked. The main reason I didn’t enjoy FIL is that I felt that not much was happening in the book. Most of the book Paige only really interacts with her co-star Rainer. I really wish that she interacted more with her friends, that’s one of the things I love about the show is her relationship with her Friends. Even though they have their issues they work things out. Also, usually insta-love in books doesn’t bother me but I felt that the instal-love in FIL was extremely insta. Not only was it insta-love there was a love triangle. Now the main thing that bothered me about FIL was the ending. From the Prologue, we know that Paige makes a choice on the love triangle situation and she says that she made the wrong choice. When I read the end I couldn’t believe her reasoning behind the choice she made. Duh, it was the wrong decision because her reasoning for her choice shouldn’t be a reason to decide to be with someone. I hope that makes sense because this really bothered me. Honestly really, Paige, that is why you decide to be with this person? Made me so mad lol.

I gave Famous In Love three stars out of five and now I am starting to think that this may be a two-star book for me. It really wasn’t amazing, I also don’t think I am going to continue with the series. Let me know if you have read Famous In Love and what you thought about it. I will love to know other peoples thoughts.

Until next time book nerds,

  1. I saw some commercials for this show and thought it might be cool only if the red-head from Shake it Up wasn’t acting in it. She never really convinced me her character was real. Too bad the book doesn’t appear to have been that good either, because that could have been another option for me. Oh whale, my TBR is big enough as it is lol.

    1. Yea, I really wanted to like it but it just didn’t work for me. The show I like more than the book. Which makes me wonder if my thoughts would have been different if I had read the book first.
