December TBR: Trying to catch up

Hello there,

In Today’s post, I will be listing all the books I plan on reading this December. As you all know 2016 is coming to a close and I am behind on my Goodreads reading challenge! So this December I plan on reading as much as I can to meet my goal. Let’s get into my TBR!

1) Stealing Snow by: Danielle Paigefullsizerender-jpg-1

I have actually already started reading this and I am enjoying it so far I am about a little past half way. If you do not know Stealing Snow is a Snow Queen retelling. I am really having fun trying to pick out all the similarities it has with the original Snow Queen story.

2) Melody’s Key by: Dallas Coryell cover-jpeg

I actually started reading Melody’s Key the end of October and I am still trying to finish this. Melody’s Key is about how a pop star ends up staying at Tegan’s family’s Manor and it follows their journey with each other. I have a ebook version of this book and I think that is one of the reasons why it has taken me a while to get through the book. I will be finishing this book and will keep you posted on my thoughts.

3) 12 Days of Christmas by: Debbie Macomber fullsizerender-jpg-6

This book is about a girl named Julia who has a not so friendly neighbor named Cain. One day Julia sees Cain stealing her newspaper so she decides that she will break down his “Scrooge-like exterior” by being nice to him. So Julia starts a blog to track her progress. Last year I read Debbie Macomber’s Dashing through the Snow and really enjoyed it so I decided to pick this one up.

4) The Sun is Also a Star by: Nicola Yoonfullsizerender-jpg

This is Nicola Yoon’s second book and I am so excited to read it. I loved her first book Everything, Everything so I can not wait to get to this book. TSIAAS is set in one day where Natasha and her family are about to be deported. Then she meets Daniel and they start to get feelings for each other.

5) Heartless by: Marissa Meyerfullsizerender-jpg-4

I loved Meyer’s The Lunar Chronicles so I am super excited to read more books by her. Heartless is the story of how the Queen of Hearts became the person we all know today. I have been looking forward to this book for so long and I can’t wait to start this book that I know will be just amazing.

So the next two books are my attempts to hit my Goodreads goals so I have decided to read some children Christmas books. Yep, it has come to that but I am fine with it.

6) Nutcracker by: E.T.A. Hofmannfullsizerender-jpg-2

This will be my first time actually truly hearing this story. The only version of the Nutcracker that I have seen is the Barbie movie version. Yup, you read that right Barbie, don’t judge me it was a cute movie. Well that being said I can not wait to read the original story.

7) The Polar Express by: Chris Van Allsburg fullsizerender-jpg-3

I have seen the movie The Polar Express and I really wanted to read the book that the movie was based off. I actually read it last night and I thought it was a really cute story about believing. After reading this I admire how the movie was able to expand on the book and still keep the same feel of the book.

Now we have come to the last book on my December TBR list! Yay!!!

8) A Christmas Carol by: Charles Dickensfullsizerender-jpg-5

Again this will be my first time reading the original. I have seen a few remakes of this story including the 5th-grade play that I was in so I am excited to finally be reading A Christmas Carol.

That is it my very long TBR list. I really hope that I get through all of these. Let me know in the comments if you have reached your reading goal for the year? Also, what is your favorite Christmas book and or movie? Honestly, I am obsessed with Hallmark Christmas movies. So I’m not really sure which is my favorite.

Until next time book nerds,
