Review: The Sun is Also a Star by: Nicola Yoon

Hello there,

This post is on my thoughts on The Sun is Also A Star by: Nicola Yoon. This post will also be different from my other reviews. The first part of this post will be spoiler free then I will go into some of my spoiler thoughts. Do not worry I will let you know when that happens so that you are not spoiled if you have not read The Sun is Also a Star yet. Now on to the review.

The Sun is Also a Star is about a girl named Natasha who thinks about everything in a very scientific way also Natasha and her family are being deported back to Jamaica that night. Then there is Daniel who is a dreamer that is trying to please his family, these two could not be any more different. These differences are the very thing that draws them together. Set in twelve hours Natasha and Daniel meet and Daniel is trying to make Natasha fall in love with him. This may be the main plot of this story but there is so much more to it. This book is told from multiple points of view, but it is done in a way that it is not confusing or annoying. Each perspective adds to the story in just the right way.

Books on my Shelf I need to Read ASAP

Hello there!

Have you ever bought a book and then months pass and that book has yet to be read? Well, this happens to more than I would like. This post is my top 5 books that have been on my shelves for way too long and I need to read ASAP. Let’s get into the list.

1.The Star Touched Queen by: Roshani Chokshi IMG_5591

I got this book back in May I believe. I went to a Books of Wonder event where Chokshi was one of the authors at the event and I found the subject of her book very interesting. After the little Q and A session, we were able to get our books signed. Chokshi was so nice and I left the event so excited to read her book. Now it is December and I have yet to read The Star Touched Queen. I will fix this soon and this will be one of the first books I read in 2017. What I know about this book is that the main character Maya is cursed. Her horoscope says that if she marries it will bring death and destruction. Maya’s father ends up setting up a marriage for her with another Kingdom. That is when things start to get interesting.  Continue reading “Books on my Shelf I need to Read ASAP”
