June Summary and Coming up in July

Hello there!

Todays post will be on what bookish things I did in June, then I will be going into my plans for July. So lets get started!

Books Read

In the mouth of June I was finally able to finish reading Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard. Glass Sword is the second book in the Red Queen series. I really enjoyed reading Glass Sword, the first half was a little on the slow side for me but after that it picked up and it got really good! I have spoiler free review and a review with spoilers for Glass Sword. So check those out if you want to know all my thoughts on the book.

IMG_5595The next book I read in June was The Heir by Kiera Cass. (Warning: Spoilers on the first three books up ahead. Continue reading when you see “~ ~ ~” if you do not want spoilers.) I enjoyed this book as well the only thing that I had trouble with was getting used to reading from an other characters perspective. The first three books in The Selection Series is told in America’s perspective. So then reading from her daughters perspective I had to get used to it. I also had to keep reminding myself that when it says “mom” and “dad” that is America and Maxon.

Those are the only books I read in June but I am proud of it. I said that these were the books I was going to read and I accomplished that. The only thing is that I am now behind on my Goodreads Challenge! No worries there are three weeks left in July and I can catch up…hopefully. 🙂

Birthday Haul: My birthday was in June so my friend got me three books!

12 summer romance stories by 12 Authors. My friend got me the UK edition because it is so pretty! Also we have My True Love Gave to Me in the UK edition so we had to keep going with the collection.

I heard about this book on booktube all I can remember is that your life truly begins after death. I thought this was an interesting idea and I can not wait to learn more about the worlds after death.

IMG_58983) Thirteen Reasons Why by: Jay Asher

This book as well I heard about on booktube. It is about a guy who had a crush on a girl and she commits suicide. The guy ends up getting 13 tapes from her that explains the 13 reasons why she committed suicide. He is one of the reasons. This is different from the books that I normally read so I am excited to see if I will enjoy this book.

Coming up in July

Currently Reading

IMG_5906The Crown by: Kiera Cass

After the cliffhanger from The Heir I had to pick up this book ASAP. I needed to know the answer to what happened at the end of The Heir. Thankfully The Crown picks up pretty much where The Heir left off so I got my answer in the first few pages. I am excited to finish up this book and find out who Eadlyn chooses.

To Be Read

IMG_5904In July I will also be reading Sailor Moon Vol. 7. I have really been enjoying reading the manga for the first time, It is so much fun watching Sailor Moon Crystal while reading the manga. The only thing is that I sometimes get confused as to if I read something or watched it on the show.

IMG_5896I will finally be reading Soundless by Richelle Mead. I went to BookCon 2015 and on one of the panels Mead was talking about Soundless and I thought the idea was so interesting. I got the book for Christmas so seven months later I will finally be reading it. What I remember Mead saying about Soundless is that everyone in the main characters village can not hear. Then one day  Fei wakes up from hearing a sound.

That is all the bookish things I did in June and my plans for July. Let me know in the comments what you are currently reading.

Until next time book nerds,

Yari
